I like and agree with it all EXCEPT mining stocks. Wish I had bought some stock a few years ago but think it is now too late. Unless you have physical silver you have nothing. WHEN true shortages begin watch mines nationalized here and elsewhere around the world. They MIGHT give you something for your stock but probably not. Just tell you "nationalization is only temporary to protect this critical resource and? will be returned to you as soon a practical". Like 12 centuries from now. ETF same.

In general, rounds and bars have the lowest premiums and then there's industrial scrap type silver. Don't loose site of the "ease of selling" factor. Also Eagles have a tax exeption benifit. I'd say? thier premiums are worth it.

$35 silver eagles in late 2008 is misleading. I picked up plenty of these coins well under that price, also? at that time ebay/microsoft were offering 30% cash back on buy it now purchases. You could get a roll of eagles shipped to your door for like $250, even though the sales data would? suggest you paid 30% more

I believe that since neither gold nor silver is pegged to the dollar that the confiscation of individual holdings of precious metals would be seen (correctly) as outright theft. At the same time, it will be very difficult? to search residences for personal hoards. Thus, I believe Washington would first go after lower hanging fruit like 401k funds, pensions, and ETFs. If they get to the point of gold and silver confiscation, they would be desperate enough to seize anything.
